Acupuncturist • Bodyworker • Birth & Breech Specialist • Infant Cranial-Sacral Practitioner

Dena Gold is a licensed acupuncturist, massage therapist, and birth worker with a deep respect for the wisdom of the body and the unique journey of each family she serves. Known by some as “The Breech Lady,” Dena specializes in helping breech babies turn using a gentle, integrative approach rooted in acupuncture, bodywork, and birth biomechanics.

Dena holds master’s degrees in acupuncture and Chinese herbology (MSAc, MSCH) and is licensed in both acupuncture and massage therapy (LAc, LMT). She is also a certified full-spectrum doula, certified lactation counselor, and a Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner. Her work is informed by long-term study with a master practitioner and years of hands-on clinical experience.

Her acupuncture practice supports a wide range of concerns, with a special focus on women’s and uterine health, fertility, prenatal and postpartum care, pain management, fatigue syndromes, psycho-emotional balance, and trans health. Dena works with multiple acupuncture styles and techniques, always tailoring treatment to the individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all protocol. Her herbal training emphasizes safety, thoughtful consideration of medications and health conditions, and the creation of customized formulas for unique presentations.
In her bodywork practice, Dena offers therapeutic and intuitive massage drawing from trigger point release, deep tissue, shiatsu, Thai yoga massage, craniosacral therapy (Dynamic Body Balancing), prenatal massage, and Arvigo® abdominal massage. These modalities naturally weave together in her care, especially for pregnant clients seeking relief, balance, and optimal alignment.
Dena’s clinical background strongly informs her approach to birthwork. Her understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics shapes how she supports the physics of pregnancy, birth, and the perinatal period. She offers experience- and evidence-based education while honoring that every family is different—and that each family is the ultimate authority in their own choices.

Dena is especially passionate about helping breech babies turn. By combining acupuncture, targeted bodywork, Spinning Babies®-informed techniques, and her experience as a doula, she creates individualized breech care plans designed to support both baby and parent with compassion, clarity, and care. She remains a steady resource for families, offering support not just during sessions, but beyond them as well.

Dena believes in the importance of treating infants. The birth process is demanding on the body of the mother and child. The brilliance of nature that allows babies' head to mold and the reflexes they engage to help birth themselves are miraculous. Very often, for many reasons, the head can get stuck in different places. This can create pressure on nerves or even portions of the brain. By supporting the release of the sutures and connective tissue, and allowing the cerebrospinal fluid to flow, babies can find more ease in their transition out of the womb, and can develop more easily and fluidly.
