Dynamic Body Balancing/Cranial-Sacral
Cranial-sacral is a gentle form of bodywork that uses light touch to work with the circulatory fluids of the nervous system, the movements of the bones of the cranium (skull), the spine, and sacrum (back of the pelvis), and with the connective tissue of the whole body.Dynamic Body Balancing is a form of cranial-sacral that incorporates myofascial unwinding. This follows the body's lead, allowing it to release places of torsion in the connective tissue, works with the alignment and movement of the cranial, spinal, and pelvic bones, and works with the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid through the nervous system, particularly the cranium. This can alleviate a variety of symptoms that are rooted or entangled with the nervous system, connective tissue, and skeletal system.
This work is often helpful for working with infants, whose cranial bones and connective tissue can often be affected by the process of birth, and even different positions they may take in utero. By freeing up the sutures between the cranial bones and the connective tissue, cerebrospinal fluid can flow freely and the brain can grow uninhibited. This work also can help babies integrate birth reflexes that may have had issues expressing due to delivery method or position. When reflexes don't express, they can sometimes become overactive, and inhibit physical or even cognitive development. Integration in infants can be simple, and can provide relief to the nervous system that is overstimulated by the oversensitivity. Dena feels passionate about offering this work to infants, as so many problems downstream can be prevented and easily treated when babies are small and labile, before bones fuse, sutures tighten, and the body gets habituated to patterns of tension.
It can also be very helpful during pregnancy and postpartum, when the body undergoes massive changes in almost all of the physical systems and tissues. Treating the pregnant body can help to free patterns of tension that could make labor and birth more difficult for both mom and baby.

Because it works with the nervous system and connective tissue, cranial-sacral work can support babies with a wide variety of symptoms and conditions. Some of those are:
-
Colic
-
Feeding issues/poor latch/tongue tie
-
Difficulty sleeping
-
Excessive gas
-
Plagiocephaly (flat head)
-
Any skull malformations
-
Developmental delays
-
Torticollis
-
Reflux
